Nigeria lead Group F with five points, same as Malawi while Kenya remain rooted to the foot of the standings without a win after a draw against Malawi, defeat to Namibia and a 1-1 draw against Stephen Keshi's men last time out. Nigeria's 2013 AFCON hero,Sunday Mba has declared that the team will play like the African champions they truly are and believes the Harambee stars will not have a hiding place even at the backyard in Nairobi.
"Last week, we showed character against Mexico in the 2-2 draw in Houston, Texas, and we believe we will also fly the flag high in Kenya, Namibia and also at the Confederations Cup," the midfielder told FIFA.com. "We have set a standard and Nigerians do not expect anything less."
Striker,Brown Ideye is also sure the Eagles will fly above the stars in Nairobi albeit he wants the team to take the few chances that will come their way tomorrow. “Whether it is tough or easy, we will go for all the three points, we just need to be more ruthless and be confident and we will get the result we need,” declared Ideye, who netted from the penalty spot in a 2-2 with Mexico at the weekend.
“We did our best and played well against Mexico, but like we all know, the fans expected us to win. We now hope to improve on this against Kenya and Namibia.
“Personally, I expect a big challenge from Kenya and Namibia. It is going to be difficult, but we must conquer them to get closer to our World Cup dream',the Dynamo Kiev player told mtnfootball.
